A monthly collection of freedom-affirming experiences
that I’m loving these days and want to share with you…

Video: Giving it away
This video has been making the rounds… if you haven’t seen it yet, take a few moments and be prepared to feel lit up from the inside out. The context: a man celebrates his 65th birthday by doing 65 random acts of kindness on that day, including a turnaround on the old panhandling routine. Priceless!

Free Webinar: A Spiritual Path to Success
One of my mentors, George Kao, is offering a free webinar this Saturday (tomorrow!) and next Tuesday on “A Spiritual Path to Success: The 7 Practices.”  I love the way George is linking spirituality with livelihood… well worth listening to. I’ve recently gotten involved in this community (“Your Highest Work”) and find it very rewarding. Sign up here.

Aroma: Magic potions from Kate
This is the second FF list in which I’ve felt inspired to include an aroma… my olfactory glands must be in full tilt! Recently I discovered some powerful potions from Kate’s Magik, a small company based in Tucson, Arizona. The magical Kate oversees the making of every batch. If you feel called to bring more scents into your life, check them out. I’ve been using the “Uncrossing” blend lately to move negativity out of my system. It works.

Book: Spark and Inspire
Spark and Inspire features the voices of over 40 creative entrepreneurs who offer no-nonsense information on their processes and how they have been able to keep moving in tough economic times. The book includes a contribution from my friend Lisa Wilson, who has guest posted here a few times and is the creator of the wonderful blog LifeUnity.

Vision: Peace and Dignity in Nicaragua
Finally… Brenda Salgado is a Team Liberation member and I want to help her share the word about a wonderful vision. Brenda writes:

My parents were born and raised in Nicaragua, and as young adults moved to and were married in San Francisco, CA. Our parents and familia raised us with the same cultural and spiritual values passed onto them. For this I am truly grateful. As many of you know, I have been receiving much spiritual guidance these past few years. It has centered around work I am being called to do in 2012 and beyond.

In preparation for that work, I am being guided now to return to the land of my roots, to complete two important things:

    • Give thanks in ceremony to the people and the land that nurtured my parents and the generations before me.
    • Financially, spiritually and physically support Maritza Centeno and indigenous spiritual elders and runners participating in the Peace and Dignity Journeys in Nicaragua Oct 31-Nov 11, 2012
    • When I return, I will be embark on 3 specific spiritual and healing projects which invoive writing a book, opening a cultural and healing center, and beginning a leadership program

To help make Brenda’s vision a reality, please consider supporting the Peace and Dignity Journeys Indiegogo campaign.  Do it soon… the campaign ends next week on October 27.

What’s been on your freedom radar lately? Books, websites, music, anything else you want to tell us about?

  1. Wow. What a powerful list! I hadn’t seen the video yet, so watching it this morning brightened my heart smile! One day I bought a $30 gift card at Starbucks and left it at the register so the next few people would have complimentary drinks (without knowing who had paid). While the feelings of gratitude were incredible, I also found it a bit sad that, in general, unexpected kindness “floors us”…wouldn’t it be awesome to be “the norm”? I only share that here in case anyone else would like to try the idea 🙂

I also just “discovered” Robin and her work…love love love it…

Gorgeous logo and inspiration from Brenda!

A book I am reading and enjoying is Only Pack What You Can Carry: My Path to Inner Strength, Confidence, and True Self-Knowledge by Janice Holly Booth…reminds me of so much in this season of “release”. To me, energetically, releasing something is in essence giving myself permission to soar…amplifying *freedom*. Happy Day!

    • Joy, the “Only Pack What You Can Carry” books sounds great! I’ll have to add that to my winter reading list. Thanks for contributing to the Freedom Friday collection!

And I love that you left the gift card at the Starbucks counter… amplifying freedom indeed. I also remember stories, when I lived in the Bay Area, of people at the Bay Bridge (between San Francisco and Oakland) paying the toll for the person in the car behind them… another ‘random act of kindness.’
