Freedom Friday: 5/13 Resource Round-Up
Most Fridays, I put together this ‘resource round-up’ of news, events, and articles that I hope will inspire and support you in living a liberated life. If you have suggestions to share with other readers, please post in the comment section.

Thoughts on Compassion from Sharon Salzberg
In anticipation of the Newark Peace Education Summit that’s happening this weekend, there’s a short but good interview with meditation teacher Sharon Salzberg in the Huffington Post this week. Sharon talks about how to deal with difficulties in meditation and considers the question, “Is each of us born with compassion?” (You may also be interested in Sharon’s new book, Real Happiness: The Power of Meditation: A 28-Day Program.)

Win a Spot at Jennifer Louden’s Writing Workshop
Jennifer Louden, author of a number of great books including The Woman’s Comfort Book: A Self-Nurturing Guide for Restoring Balance in Your Life, is giving away one space at her annual “World Famous Writers’ Workshop,” happening in July, just up the road from me in beautiful Taos, NM. The deadline for submitting your entry is June 3, so head over to her website soon to enter!

Creating Conscious Relationships
Here’s another excellent offering from The Shift Network: a free virtual event called the Conscious Partnering Conference. It’s happening May 23 – 27 and features luminaries such as Riane Eisler, Gary Zukav, Gangaji, Gay and Katie Hendricks, Robert Gass and Judith Ansara, Deva Premal, and others. You can access all the talks via your telephone and listen as the speakers share stories, insights, and practices for creating healthy partnerships in love and life. You can sign up here.
The World We Live In
Wisdom and Technology
If you’re interested in supporting wellness, wisdom, and mindfulness in young people, you’ll get a lot out of the Wisdom 2.0 Youth Conference. Dr. Daniel Siegel is a featured speaker. Organized by meditation teacher Soren Gordhamer, author of Wisdom 2.0: Ancient Secrets for the Creative and Constantly Connected, this event takes place on September 17 in Mountain View, California. I went to the first Wisdom 2.0 Conference last year and appreciated the fruitful discussion and connections that happened there.
